This course will give you the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults in line with first aid guidelines by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other peak Australian clinical bodies

This unit applies to a range of workers within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthma and anaphylactic emergencies

This includes early childhood workers and educators who work with school age children in outside school hours care and vacation programs

Assessment is through demonstration of practical skills, participation in role plays, oral and written questioning.

Participants will be required to complete all activities.

Students

to Perform

2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR 30 compressions and 2 breaths on an adult manikin

placed on the floor

2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR 30 compressions and 2 breaths on an infant manikin

placed on a firm surface

2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR 30 compressions and 2 breaths on an child manikin

placed on the floor

First aid responses following workplace procedures including Asthma and Anaphylaxis
